Andrea Belli & Gas Di Fede - Hypnotize (Biggie Biggie) > OUT NOW !!! https://smarturl.it/ABGDFHypnotizeBB Back on 9th March 1997, at the age of 25, US rapper Christopher George Latore Wallace, The Notorious B.I.G., was pronounced dead after receiving four gunshots to the chest from the window of a Chevrolet Impala. An announced end, by “Biggie Biggie” (another Christopher’s nickname) himself: his death was already echoing sinister in the lyrics of his albums Ready To Die (1994) and Life After Death (1997: released two weeks after his early death). Just like it happened for other musical legends who died at a young age, death is the fatal element that consecrated them, a tragic prelude which is sadly essential to elect the artist as god or legend. In the US The Notorious B.I.G. sold over 20 million records; MTV ranked him in third position in the list of “the greatest Masters of Ceremonies of all time” and, after his death three albums were released. As a character he inspired a large number of rappers across America and beyond. In 2009 a film in his memory was made, titled NOTORIOUS B.I.G. In 2020 he was included in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”. Celebrations for this legend are endless, just like his music. On 1st March Emmet Malloy’s documentary “Biggie: I’ve got a story to tell” was released on Netflix: a tribute to the controversial life of “Big Poppa” (another nickname); a circular tale which find in the end the endless continuation of his musical and human legacy. His extraordinary communicative power and the extreme and cross-cutting musicality of his works have influenced other music genres, such dance-and house music. Almost in conjunction with the release of the docu-film, ANDREA BELLI & GAS DI FEDE released their version of one of The Notorious B.I.G.’s gems: HYPNOTIZED (over 500.000.000 plays on Spotify only). The two Italian DJs and producers deliver a cover version, where the unique power of the original are even enhanced by contemporary, international-flavored sounds, ready to be loved even by old-school purists in every corner of the globe. HYPNOTIZED (BIGGIE BIGGIE) isn’t just a simple cover version, it is a great proof that great masterpieces have no age, boundaries and genres. 05/03/2021 by DOIT in NEWS ARCHIVE COMMENTI Facebook Twitter Google+ LinkedIn
